13 – Arkansas’ Natural Resources Arkansas is comprised of three natural forests that cover over 250,000,000 acres. These three natural forests, the Ozarks, Ouachita, and St. Francis account for 12.4% of Arkansas’ total forest, which covers more than half the state. An assorted mixture of woods are produced throughout, pine, oak, cypress, cottonwood, elm, and hickory. Oil, petroleum, natural gas, and coal are minerals that produced, refined, or distributed in Arkansas. Quartz crystal, bauxite, bromine, and silica stone production in Arkansas ranks number 1 in the world. The most amazing and unusual diamond-bearing formation was created by nature in Arkansas. It is the only public diamond mine in the world, the big volcanic pipe”. During your research find an image, picture or video of one natural resource to include in your movie.
